South Calgary prides itself on having the largest YMCA in the entire world. At over 300,000 square feet, this fitness facility has become a hub for the community. Not only are their multiple gyms, courts, and plenty of space to work out, but there are youth programs, a full service library, and even a surf simulator.
For avid golfers, and those hoping to get better, South Calgary is one of the best communities to play golf. There are so many private and public golf courses in the area, like the 36-hole, championship Heritage Point Golf Club, and the fully private Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, host of a Champions Tour event.

Schools of South Calgary
The South Calgary community (Southwest and Southeast Calgary) is served by Area 4 of the Calgary Board of Education. The population of this area is nearly 200,000 people -- over 16,000 of them under the age of 19 and in need of a good school.
Available in South Calgary, including public, private, and Catholic options, are roughly 30 elementary schools, more than ten middle schools, and six high schools.
